Back Again
Guess who's back? Back again. Nelly's back. Call a friend.
Fourth grade part deux is coming along nicely. Aside from losing great gobs of hair over a few of my kiddies, the group as a whole is a refreshing change from last year. Of course, it always helps to have one year of experience with a particular age group. I'm starting to build friendships (yay!) at my new locale, and I feel as if life is good.
Still trying to get pregnant again. How is it that, as teenage girls, we are taught to fear pregnancy, and then when we actually try to get pregnant, it's one of the hardest things in the world? There's a definite disconnect. And it's not as if I'm the only one who has had trouble in this arena. I can't tell you the number of women who try and try and try, to no avail. Yet we hear of population booms in other countries...I know, I know. Small violins are playing a sad tune for me. I just find it funny when I look back at all of the years when I panicked at the thought of pregnancy. Life is strange.
On another note, I"m hoping that everyone is getting ready for the upcoming elections. Vote, dammit! And not just to win a possible million dollars (how stupid is that?), but because you could actually make a difference. I know, I know--the world is so messed up that all politicians are the same, and it doesn't matter who you vote for, because the world's going to hell in a handbasket, etc. People have been saying that since this country began. Vote anyway. No excuses. And might I encourage you to vote Democratic? I say this because, strangely enough, I'm not happy with a HUGE deficit, a war with no game plan, homeland security that is a joke at best, less money to help those who need it, and corporations making out like bandits. Oh yah, and hypocrisy. Don't tell millions of voters that homosexuals are deviants who don't deserve the same rights, and then pay a gay prostitute for "services" while huffing meth. And don't pretend to protect the safety of children while writing nasty emails to pages. Shall I continue? Because I could. While the Dems may have little ability to form a cohesive group with a clear, common, strong message, they are not, at the very least, hypocrites. So vote. Vote because you are angry. Vote for what you believe in. Vote because it's the right thing to do. Vote because you get a cool sticker if you're lucky.
Lecture over. Bye.
